LET HIM LIVE IN YOU
He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee. (Luke 24:6)
He is risen! It is a fact. On one hand, it really does not matter if we believe it or not; it is still the truth. On the other hand, believing it is the most important thing we can do in our entire lives. After all, only those who have the Son have life.
Will we let Him live in all of His fullness in us? Are we willing to be made willing? The Bible encourages us not to resist God, but we all do in one way or another. What we might not think is such a big deal, may be a huge deal blocker. In other words, our resistance to something small in our minds might be holding back something huge that God has for us.
Once I was changing oil in a vehicle and it was one of those times when whoever changed it before put the filter on so tight that I had to drive a screw driver through it in order to get it off. Well I was so glad to get the old one off and the new one on that I bypassed one other important thing. It may be that I was a little disgusted with the situation that caused me to skip a little thing! You see, I did not check to see if the old seal was off before putting the new filter on and you can guess that I had a huge mess. After I blew oil all over the place it occurred to me that I thought something was not quite right as put on the new filter, but I ignored that thought. It was a messy lesson. I knew better! In case you are wondering, I always check now! The point is; little oversights can cause big problems.
Is it possible that God cares about every part of our lives? It is not only possible, it is a promise and He cannot lie.
During this week so long ago, the disciples had been through a gauntlet of emotions. Cheered and jeered, warned and still deserted, and ultimately watched as Jesus did just what He said He was going to do. He died. Worse yet, He was crucified! How could it be? Do you ever wonder what went through their minds Friday night and all day Saturday and Saturday night? We know that Sunday is coming but they were not feeling it. You would think that someone would have mentioned the fact that Jesus said He would rise again. Maybe someone did, but there is nothing to indicate that they were excited about it.
I think it is safe to say that we all have times when we forget to be excited about the promises of God. We crawl into our doubt and worry and pity spot and forget that He is risen and that He is for us. When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead He told the folks to loose him and let him go! How about if we all just let God arise and the enemy be scattered. He is risen. Let Him live in you in all of His fullness. I know that is what I want. The Holy Spirit is the seal for that deal!
