LOOKING ENDURING DISREGARDING SITTING

Looking away from all that will distract us and focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the author and perfecter of faith (Hebrews 12:2 AMP)

Inside of us is a desire to draw closer to Jesus every second. Also inside of us there are still things that resist. Sometimes, we choose not to respond to those little directives from God. This can be for many reasons but recognizing that it is a fact will help us to overcome.

This verse gives us a good plan; follow Jesus. He looked away from everything that would keep Him from completing His mission. He scolded Peter for worrying more about what flesh wanted that looking to what God wants. Jesus came to accomplish something bigger than anyone could see. We all like Jesus are sent to accomplish things we do not see.

So we look away from distractions and look at Jesus. He endured the cross. He endured rejection. He endured and overcame temptation. There was a lot of enduring and overcoming going on from the moment of His birth. There was much of that He did not know as a child, but later came to understand. We can be sure this is true for us as well.

Jesus disregarded the shame. He disregarded being falsely accused. When we love Jesus there will be some things that we have to disregard. All who will live Godly will suffer persecution. Some of it is from without and some of it is from within. There are times when it may seem to be too much, but when that thought comes, look away from it and look to Jesus. Paul said to remember that we have not yet suffered unto death. Those who have have entered immediately into the presence of God, so that is not all bad.

Yes, Jesus followed this pattern, and took His seat at the right hand of God. He kept His eye on the prize!

Did you ever notice that you automatically look away from things that you can’t stand? Those are things that you have already determined to be things you do not want in your view or in your mind. We continually come across these things in our lives. We find new things that we cannot or should not be able to look at or meditate on. We learn new and greater truths that help see what we do not want to focus on.

In the midst of the pandemic, have you learned not to focus on it? Have you found yourself imagining symptoms or having moments of fear if you feel a little different. It is good to be wise but don’t focus on those things. Look to Jesus. Rejoice in the Lord always. This is a day that the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad in it. Take a seat in Christ. Isn’t that cozy? Now you are ready to press on!
