LORD JESUS

If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus (Romans 10:9 NKJ)

He is Lord. Is He my Lord? Is He your Lord? Well, the truth is that Jesus is Lord and one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. This is all old news to Bible readers and church goers. At the same time, these words are like a cool breeze on a hot day or a cool cup of water to a person who is thirsty. These words refresh my soul when I take time to consider them. We should take time to consider the Lordship of Jesus in our lives.

You see, that is what is important. Is He Lord when I am happy? Is he Lord when I am afraid? Is He lord when I don’t see Him or feel Him? Is He Lord when I am trying to get this devotion written and my special needs son needs his juice! When exactly is He Lord?

He is always available. He is always willing and able and perfect. He has given us the option of positioning Him in our lives. It is not just a few words that we say on occasion it is a life we choose over and over again.

I know you are Lord Jesus. I want you to be Lord of my life. I want you to interrupt my life when it needs interrupting. I want to walk as close to you as you walk to me. I know you want me to want you and love me to love to love you and I do!

As I was eating my pie and ice cream last night I thought about God. The Father Son and Holy Spirit are my ice cream. Let me explain to those of you who are not ice cream on your mind folks. I like ice cream. If there is cake served, I am thinking about how much better it would be with ice cream. The same goes for pie or cookies or maybe even a bologna sandwich! However, the bottom line is just ice cream is perfect.

In good times, God is good. In bad times God is good. All the time God is good. Just as I cannot think of a time when ice cream would not be the right thing, so it is with tasting and seeing that the Lord is good!

There are times when I will pass on ice cream and it will be ok, but there is never a time to pass on the Lord. He certainly comes to mind; the question is will I mind what He brings to mind. Will I choose the Lord’s way or my own? I will be honest and say that sometimes it is more of battle to give into the Lord than it should be. I did not want to leave the computer to wait on my son, but the Lord leaned in his favor. He makes even bad tasting things good. That is why He is my ice cream. I have mixed dry old cookies or brownies in ice cream and they are great. And so it is with Jesus. When He is Lord of all; all is good!
