Only believe, only believe, all things are possible, only believe. Most of us have heard this chorus at one time or another. We have read the words in scripture as well. Most of us have also come to spots in our life where these words are easy to say, but hard to hold on to. We have all been in spots where someone encouraged us to believe and try as we may, our believer is shot! We are holding on to a rope that is greased with weak arms and our grip is gone. When we come to this spot there is only one thing that cannot fail. Love keeps believing.

Yes, love knows God will catch us. Love knows He cannot fail, because love believes. Love believes that God is true and that He cannot lie. If God says that His strength is made perfect in weakness, then love says I am getting stronger by the second.

Love overrides doubt. Love overrides fear. Love overrides even our own desires. Love enables us to stand even when we feel too weak to stand. How can love do this? Love believes! Love holds on to the truth.

Jesus believed that we would choose Him because He loved the Father and He loved us. He continues to love you and me and because of this, He continues to believe in us and for us. He believes that we will know the truth and the truth will make us free. If He did not love us so much, He would give up on us just like we often think He should.

The devil lies to people and tells them that God could not possibly love or forgive them, and that is very believable. However, when we love God, we are able to overcome the lies with the truth and instead we believe that God would never leave or forsake us. We love Him so we believe that nothing can separate us from the love of God. We believe that love never fails.

Jesus told the people that would not believe what He said that they should believe because of the miracles. It is interesting that we must first believe before we can love, but once we believe it takes love to keep us in all the things of God. Even miracles will not keep us believing. They can encourage and inspire us, but they will not keep us.

If we let go of our love for Him hope evaporates, fear is magnified, doubt runs rampant, and destruction waits at every turn. Scriptures says that perfect love casts out fear. I always saw that as God’s love wiping out fear, but that just is not the case. God never stops loving and yet we find ourselves fearful. It is when our love for God is in perfect alignment that fear cannot stand because love believes God. Love believes that He that is in us is greater than anything the devil and his world can throw at us. Love believes.
