LOVE DOMINATES
You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet. (Psalm 8:6 NKJ)
It is amazing to consider that we have been given dominion by God. Most of the time when we think of dominion over all things we think of created things or finances or whatever comes to our minds when we hear that. All of this is most certainly included in God’s plan. However, I believe that the Lord opened my eyes to another thing that may just be a key to making the rest work better.
The truth is that most of us really do not consider how the Lord has given us dominion. We tend to roll with the punches thinking that is just how things go. In fact, some even consider just hanging in there is the way God meant for us to be. But according to His word, we really are supposed to be the head and not the tail. Well, I believe that loving God can and will enable us to dominate.
We are all familiar with the phrase, “love is blind.” We have all seen how love can cause people to go outside the realm of what we call common sense. We have probably all had an experience or two where love or what we may have thought is love has left us saying, “I don’t know what I was thinking.” We have spoken things, bought things, and well you follow what I am saying. Now, just imagine how love for God might empower you to take dominion in your life and in the things around you.
First of all, love can dominate our thinking. Love can cause a person exclude everything and everyone else; they can be walking around in a daze with a smile on their face with people saying, “Oh you are in love aren’t you?” Well what happens then when we allow love for God to dominate our thoughts.
Our love for God will cause us to cast down those things that go against what He would want us to do or say. Love for God enables to dominate those thoughts and at the same time receive the wisdom from God that enables us to dominate the circumstances and situations around us.
In the natural it may look like we are making no sense, but in fact, we are well on the way to taking dominion. Jesus’ love for God overflowed into love for us. This enabled Him to dominate all fear, all doubt, and all powers that came against Him. The things He did and said confused the wise, because His source was beyond the natural.
We cannot hope to accept or operate in the supernatural power of God, if we do not lock into a supernatural love for God. This love will give you the desire to dominate wrong thinking and once you have won that battle, love will carry you on to dominion of all things. Remember, when we love God we expect Him to do what He promised no matter what it looks like in the natural.
