LOVE THE TRUTH
So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. (Galatians 3:9 NKJ)
Preferring to prefer God’s ways requires a sincere love for the Truth! We all prefer truthfulness in life. No one wants people to lie to them. Of course there are things we wish were not so, and times when we want people to tell us it is just a bad dream, but for the most part, we all prefer the truth.
Our economy has been turned upside down and much of it is the result of people straying from the truth. Families are wrecked for lack of truth. Scripture warns us of what will occur when everyone just goes their own way. In the midst of all of this, the truth is still more powerful and a return to the truth can restore all things even more quickly than lies can destroy it. We must believe this!
Of course there are those who would scoff at such a thought, but Christians should not be among that group. We must be convinced in our hearts that the Truth is the only thing that is powerful enough save the world. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is the living Word of God. He said, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” “So then, those who are of the faith are blessed with believing Abraham.” Those who love the truth will do exploits. Those who love the truth are free from the curse that straying from the truth releases into the world.
In order to be and experience all that God has promised, we must love the truth. You have to love something to hold on when everything inside you is screaming to let go. Love for the truth is able to see people through impossible marriage situations. It is able to overcome incurable diseases. Love for the truth can deliver people from impossible economic circumstances to a flourishing place with no debt.
There is no circumstance that love for the truth cannot overcome. Even the greatest enemy of all is wiped out by love of the truth. Yes, even death is swallowed up in victory by those who love the truth.
We begin our journey simply by believing the truth that God loved us so much He sent Jesus to die for us so we could have life everlasting. If we love the truth, then we will believe that this is a wonderful beginning, but only a beginning. We then have the opportunity to join Abraham and allow God to take us to lands and places we know nothing of. People who once had no hope and in the world’s eyes were useless, have been raised to places of honor and wealth, simply by believing God. People in high places have discovered real life and joy by believing and loving the truth.
How can we thrive when it seems impossible even to survive? We must love the Truth and prefer to prefer God’s ways always. We will not be disappointed. God has not called us to seek Him in vain! No! He is God and He is faithful. Don’t you just love the truth?
