MADE BY HIM
He created everything there is. Nothing exists that He didn't make. (John 1:3 NLT)
Did God make computers? Some would say no, but the fact is, all things were, are, and always will be made by Him. He made everything perfect. Some of His perfect things are used for wrong purposes, but that does not change the fact that they started out perfect. That said; let me get on with what I believe the Lord showed me this morning.
In my prayer time, as often happens, my mind ended up far from where I started. This time I somehow had skipped to thinking about the addition that we added to our house. I was trying to remember how we did some of the things and thinking about what mistakes I made. In the midst of that I once again found myself telling the Lord I was sorry for letting my mind wander and asking Him to help me get back on track. He in turn just took where I was and turned it into a lesson. I realized that with all the things He has made, He never has to wonder if He made a mistake or if He could have done it better. I know there was time that He regretted making man, but that was not a flaw in the original model it was in what man chose to do. God then came up with a perfect plan of restoration. Everything that He does is perfect. So why do we have so many messes?
Well this is where it turns into a bit of computer talk. I don’t know a whole lot about them, but I have been forced to learn a bit. If you have ever used one, you will know exactly what I am talking about. As a rule, the computer itself is pretty sound. It processes what it receives. God made us perfectly and intended that we last forever. When a problem occurs in a computer you often see a little sign come up that tells you a program has performed an illegal operation. I liken this to a check from the Holy Spirit. If we heed the check, then we can go on in a right direction. Sometimes with a computer, the illegal operation will just lock up the computer and you have to restart it. You see the problem is not with the system itself, it is with the program.
Sometimes in our lives we have programs or activities that lock up the perfect plan that God has for us. We shut the windows of heaven and interrupt the flow of God’s information to us. With a computer you see a sign that says you will lose all unsaved information, but with God when we restart, we can take up right where we left off. With a computer, you may see it run a scandisk to look for errors. Sometimes it can fix all errors and sometimes it cannot. With God, we are very fortunate that He can automatically fix all errors. No matter what it is, He can fix it. Not only can He fix it, but he also makes it better than it ever was in the process. He helps us learn from those errors and will help keep us from making those errors again.
God really did a great job of creating everything. His plan was never intended to be complicated. It was never intended to frustrate us or make our lives miserable. Sometimes computers are all of the above. They seem complicated, frustrating, and do make our lives miserable when they do not work. God on the other hand, makes all things smooth and possible. The computer you can live without if you have to, but not so with God.
If I am gone for a few days, it takes me quite a while to catch up on my email and other things. If I miss time with the Lord He is right there for me. I may not feel good when I am gone from Him, but catching up is sure a lot easier.
The bottom line on this is that God never made a mistake and He never will. It is people who mess up the system. And lets not forget, that the devil is always trying to get things into our system that will mess us up. We will talk about that next time.
