MIRACLES ALL AROUND
But I will send you the Advocate--"the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and testify all about me. (John 15:26 NLT)
The more we notice miracles, the more we will see. Does that make sense? Let me get you started. Look in the mirror. If you can see you, that is a miracle. Even if you cannot see you, you are a miracle. God made you. A key to moving deeper into God and His miracle filled life is to forget about what we just looked at after we have thanked Him for the miracle of us! Why? Because, when all we do is think about ourselves we miss a lot.
Let’s not forget an even greater miracle. If you believe Jesus is the son of God and that He came from God you are an even greater miracle and headed for the greatest of all miracles, eternal life with the Lord.
These are obvious miracles that rarely get miracle billing in our minds. We know them, and if someone says something about it, we say amen; but how often do we get excited about them. We are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hands. Come let us worship and bow down. The more we lend ourselves to be amazed by our amazing God, the more we will be amazed. Our amazement is a seed that God makes grow.
I know these are elementary thoughts, but the elementary thoughts are where our first love started. Sometimes, actually all the time, we just need to fall in love again with our wonderful Lord.
When was the last time you swooned over God? When was the last time you got excited about what some might think is just a little thing but you knew it was God and you just had to praise Him?
We have these opportunities over and over again. We cannot afford to miss them. These are the things that stir our souls and keep us strong. Jesus told the disciples about a lot of things that were coming and then told them why He told them. He said I don’t want you to fall away.
We in America live in a miracle nation. We celebrate amazing men and women who fought for this miracle through the years on one special day each year. We would do well to remember them more often and thank God for them and this nation. Truly it looks at times like we are falling away from what we started out to be. Thanks to all the heroes. Thanks to God who made such great people. Pray, pray, pray.
Take time to notice all the great things God does for you. Thank Him for the miracle of believing and receiving Christ. Praise Him in the little and the big things. Just praise Him. Love Him. Get stirred up. Praise the Lord as you honor the heroes and the flag this Memorial Day.
