MOMENT OF TRUTH

Then Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written: (John 12:12)

In order for the love for God to come out in our lives, it is necessary for the Love of God to get deep down into our hearts. I know from personal experience that a person can acknowledge the existence of God without knowing Him at all. There comes a moment of truth for all people when the reality of God’s love is right there for us to grab and if we receive it, the truth sets us free.

Jesus was certain that God loved Him. He knew His Fathers voice and was certain that He and His Father were one. As He mounted that young donkey that day, He was facing a moment of truth. He knew what was coming and once it started He had to go through with it. There was no turning back. At the same time, He had such confidence in who He was and in His Father’s love that he also knew if He said the word He could turn everything a different direction.

It came to me that this was proof of the truth. Jesus proved that all that He had been saying was truth. Not only do we have moments of truth in our lives, we also have moments of proof. Some moments prove that our flesh is still alive and well. In those moments we can prove the truth of God’s word and the power of the Holy Spirit by standing on the truth and being transformed by the renewing of our minds, or we can compromise the truth and prove that we do not trust what the Lord has promised.

We know that Jesus faced resistance from the devil. We know that he was tempted in the wilderness and won with the word. Do we believe what He said about the fact that the devil had authority and power but He came to change that? Do we believe that He destroyed any authority that the devil has over followers of His? Are we prepared to prove the truth of God’s word?

Can you imagine as Jesus came into the city that there people accusing him of just copying prophecy saying, “We know what was written, and you are just trying to use it to make yourself out to be someone you aren’t?” We can face those same accusations as we stand for the truth; what will we do?

What will we do when the Word of God opens our eyes to the truth about ourselves? Will we prove that it is true and that God is able to transform us into people who can know and receive all the promises of God?

With each new day, the Truth is being revealed; the truth that satan is growing bolder and the world is growing colder. Oh what a time to be a truth prover. What a time to be growing closer to God and increasing our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. What a time to have the confidence that Jesus did and be able to say, “My Father loves me so I know all will be well for me and for all who trust Him.” What a time to say, “get behind me satan, you have no place in my life!”

Yes folks we have the opportunity every single day to prove the truth. Make it your goal to allow more and more of God’s love to fill up your innermost being.
