MORE

Then he added, "Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given--"and you will receive even more. (Mark 4:24 NLT)

I like to rise early and spend time with Lord; so I was lying in bed thinking I need to get up and read the Word and various devotionals that I always read, and of course pray. All of these things are an important, especially the prayer part, but I found myself thinking that what I really wanted was more of Jesus. This is again the place I frequently come to! It was at this point that he opened my eyes in a greater way to being one with Him.
You see, as I was laying there thinking of these things, our puppy that sleeps with us began to do things dogs do just before they throw-up; instead of springing out of bead, I simply reached down and touched her and it ceased immediately. There was this feeling that came over me as I did this; it was like I felt the calm flow into the dog. Then I was reminded of the story of the woman who was healed of the issue of blood and how Jesus felt the healing flow out of Him.
Jesus prayed that we would be one and I understand now more of the oneness He really desires. He wants us to be like Him in every way. He made the way for us to be one with Him and with the Father.
Just as He came to bring the Father Glory, He wants us to bring them both glory. Think about it. How did Jesus glorify His Father? He did the works of His father. The works of the Father were the will of the Father. He said that when we pray, we should pray for the will of God to be done. His will is that we be one.
A relationship with Jesus produces a desire for more of Jesus. For this reason, there will always be moments when we feel like something is missing and the only thing that will ease that feeling is more of Him. We can try lots of other things, and be distracted in many ways, but ultimately it will be in Him that we find the answer.
There is always another place in the Lord. If you consider How Jesus took the disciples from one place to another and the many encounters they had and all that happened, you can see that God was showing exactly how to handle anything that could ever come up.
All of this was not just so we would say, “Yep, Jesus could do anything!” It was so that we would grasp that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens and works with us. You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. So receive the power! Ask. Seek. Knock. You need this, I need this, and the world needs this. Jesus told us to go just as He went. He knew we had what was necessary to do this, if only we would seek more of Him. Don’t allow for any faith reduction. Increase and you will receive even more.
