MORE LIFE

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? (Matthew 6:25 KJV)

Jesus said that He came that we might have life! He went on to describe the life He intended for us to have as a more abundant life. The New Living translation describes this life as a rich and satisfying life! Our choice is to receive the word of God or to try and reduce it to a point where it becomes insignificant. If we will receive it, the truth will consume us, if we reduce it; well, who really needs it? If every part is not true, then maybe none of it is. So what will we do? Jesus said to choose life.

If we choose life, then we have something to replace those thoughts that Jesus tells us not to take. We will have His promises and His thoughts that will override those other things. If you use a computer, you know what those pop ups can be like. No matter what you try to do, they just keep coming. Well what if we program a Jesus pop up into our lives? What if every time one of those other thoughts tried to come, Jesus popped up to erase it with His promise?

From time to time, we have all experienced moments of satisfaction. For some it may be a very distant memory and for some it may not even register any longer, but the life that Jesus intends is available for everyone. I think that life begins when we learn to experience Him.

We start down the road learning about Him. It is good to know about Him, but there comes a time when we need to know Him. In order to really know someone you need to spend time with them. In our present age, people can communicate instantly from one side of the world to the other, but until we meet someone we will never really know them. Many people have experienced some very bad things because they thought they knew someone and then when they met them it was very different.

Jesus is who He says He is. He will never disappoint. Experiencing the presence of God moves us into this life. It is no wonder that the enemy fights so hard to keep people from the supernatural manifestations of the presence of God. If he can convince people to remain at a distance, he can keep them limited to head knowledge rather than a heart relationship with God. On the other hand, if we run into His arms, we experience life and people who know life produce light in the darkness.

No wonder Jesus could tell us not to get locked up on things that are so easy for God to handle. Just look at the life that He has planned. Just consider the prayer He taught the disciples. It is one layer of life after another. Focus on the Father and His name. Imagine His Kingdom and your daily supply. Rejoice in forgiveness and forgiving. He sets us free from the wiles of the devil. Oh the joy of His Kingdom, power, and glory now and forever. Now that is the life that is in Christ Jesus. That is more life! Experience Him!
