MY LIFE IS

"Lord to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life."(John 6:68 NLT)

There was a chorus that said, “My life is in you Lord. My strength is in you Lord. All of my hope is in you.” This week as I spent time with God I told Him, “You are my life.” Then as I said, “My life is,” I just stopped. How do I complete that statement? How does my life complete that statement? I want to say, “My life is Christ!” My question to myself; “Do I show that?” My answer to myself; “mostly, sometimes, not as often as I want, etc.”
Well, the solution is easy; live like you want to live! That is what the world says. Live for yourself. Do what you want to do. As a Christian, I should really do that! I want to live as though Christ is my life. That would be truly living for me! What the world does not understand is who is leading them to live outside of Christ.
We are told to set goals. We tell young people to set goals early. What goal could be higher than to live for Jesus as though Jesus was your life? The Bible tells us to do everything as unto the Lord. So we simply live our lives considering Him and for Him.
I was reading a Psalm this morning, and David was listing many issues in His life. He had some serious issues as we all know. After a long list of troubles, he simple says, “Bless the Lord forevermore! Amen and Amen.” He settled all the issues with the main thing. We too, can settle anything and everything in the same way. It is not some magical way for everything to go away or to be instantly fixed, but it does fix it as far as our hearts and minds are concerned.
When we set our hearts to seek the Lord; it changes things. If it does not change things, then we probably do not trust or believe as much as we would like to think or pretend. It becomes pretty clear when are only pretending. The proof is in the pudding as they say.
Jesus said in Luke 19:44 that destruction would come because they did not recognize it when God visited. Oh how we need to be aware of the presence of God. The way to be aware is to be seeking His presence. The Holy Spirit in us, if indeed He is in us, always desires God. So it stands to reason that we should yield to that desire. In all things look for His presence! If we practice His presence our lives will reveal that Christ is our life.
Oh how wonderful it would be if we never missed His presence. I would love to be able to say that when I look at my life all I see is Jesus shining through but that simply is not the case. I need to improve on living the way I really want to. How do you complete that thought? Some people say things like my life is the pits, troubled, sucks, hard, useless and many more things. Christ can take care of all those negatives. Then we can join David and say, “Bless the Lord forever.”
