NEEDY
Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5 NLT)
As I began to speak with God this morning, it was in the words of a song telling Him how much I need Him; more today than yesterday, more than words can say, more than ever before; you probably know the song. I am thankful to be desperate for God. Truly, it is in Him that we live and move and have our being.
Jesus gave us the answer to so many of our questions when He said we could not do anything apart from Him. In and through Christ we can do all things. Sometimes the biggest thing He helps us with is waiting. Those who wait upon the Lord find renewed strength in His joy.
Those who dwell in the secret place; we all have a secret place with God. It is our space that He sets aside for us. It is the place where we abide with Him and with Him we are under the shadow of the almighty. When the enemy sees that shadow he knows we are in the no go zone where we are protected and he is ejected.
Time there renews our strength and we feel safety in our fortress; we know the Lord is our refuge and strength and trust wells up in us. Oh how wonderful to be needy and know that God supplies all of our needs.
Speaking of that, it occurred to me that even when what is necessary to supply a current need does not exist, that is no problem for God. All things were made through Him and since He does not change, He is still making things.
The world needed the internet, and God agreed. He gave the wisdom to create what would accelerate the coming kingdom. More people are exposed in a moment to the gospel through the internet than at any time. Yes more people are exposed to darkness as well, and as a result more people choose each moment or have opportunity to choose than at any other time.
On a daily basis, people choose what God they will serve. Even now people reading this will agree that all wisdom does come from God and that no one would have or could have come up with this high speed search engine without God. I like to think this way. It increases my faith. We all have a choice.
We can choose to need God or we can choose not to. I just happen to be needy. God has given me the great privilege of encouraging others to enjoy neediness as well. In fact we all have been given that great privilege. We can need God and see God meet our needs and then share how good He is. It is that simple. Do you need God?
