NEVER ENOUGH MORE THAN ENOUGH

A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! (Psalm 84:10 NLT)

Time is on my side! That was a song from a few years ago. I sometimes sing those lines with the main point being, you’ll come running back to me. As we know, every good and perfect gift comes from God so I look at songs as messages from God. God wants us all to run to Him!

I was praying in the night recently considering the fact that I could never spend too much time with the Lord. Have you ever felt like you don’t spend enough time with Him? In our minds, there is some sort of an actual clock on our God time. I have read about former notable Christians that prayed for four hours a day before even beginning the day. There are many other time related examples that we can come across and compared to them, I wonder if I am a Christian! Fortunately, God does not compare us with others or measure us by others, He loves us individually.

So as I was thinking about never spending enough time with the Lord I also understood that even a moment with the Lord is more than enough time to accomplish far more than we can comprehend. A hand raised in praise, eyes up to thank Him, a simple I love you Lord, or help me Lord; These are all acts of faith that make a difference to God. Take a moment often and all those moments will bless your life.

A couple of nights after this experience with God, I was again praying in the night. I try to remember to use my time when I am awake in the night in a good way; of course I am not always successful. Unless I am praying I seldom accomplish much trying to figure things out and if I do, it is only because God intervenes. I said a simple “help them” prayer and as I did, it was as though I could see God use that prayer.

It seemed I could see Him take that simple prayer from my lips and distribute it to multitudes of people who were in need. What I felt could accomplish little, He easily transformed into much!

God is impressed by faith more than eloquence! He wants to know we believe that He can do what He says He can do. It transformed my thinking about the power and need of our prayers.

I love to spend time with the Lord. I never leave that time thinking it was enough, but I do know that a moment with Him accomplishes much. I believe He showed me how He can distribute even the simplest prayer and that increases my determination to give Him something to distribute!

When we give Him what we think we have, we will find ourselves finding more than we know! We need Him and He desires us and our prayers. Keep praising the Lord!
