NEVER LET HIM GO
"We have found the man that Moses wrote about in the Law. The prophets wrote about him to. He is Jesus, the son of Joseph. He is from Nazareth. (John 1:45 ERV)
There was a song years ago that said, once you have found him, never let him go. It was not a gospel song, but it had a very good plan. In the Song of Solomon there is a similar verse that speaks of arising and seeking the one I love. When I find him I will not let him go until I have brought him to my mother.
We all know that there is vast difference between hearing about Jesus and actually finding Jesus! We can hear about Jesus and take him or leave him, but once we find him things change. Every day is filled with opportunities to draw closer or drift away. God continually tells us draw near, come closer, and see how good he is. The world around us tells us to calm down, not go crazy, and be like everyone else. So we can press less and regress or press in and progress.
God has given us an incentive. He reminds us to take a look at the benefits of seeking Him. He tells us to ask ourselves what good thing He would hold back from us, considering the price that He paid to get it to us.
Remember, if we are willing; He is able. If he says go to the other side, He knows how to get us there, so let’s go. We can be what He has called us to be and promised that we would be. The power of the Holy Spirit, the same power that raised Christ from the dead is available to accomplish the will of God in our lives. Hold on to Him.
I will arise and seek the one I love. Who do I love? How hard is it to seek someone you love? Wild horses cannot keep us from Him if we want to draw near Him. He will blast His way through any mountain that stands between us if we will but call Him.
We need only to stir our hearts a little to remember the great things He has done for us. We only need to cast down a couple vain imaginations to get to the truth. It really does not take that much effort to bring our thoughts to the captivity of Christ. We just need to be determined to do it.
The main thing is to keep our eyes on the main thing. If we have found Him we need only to hang on. No, He has not been lost. He has not been hiding. He has been waiting. He waited for me for a long time, and then suddenly I happened upon Him when I did not think I was looking. Since that day, there are been many opportunities to give up, I just never wanted to. When I have failed, I quickly ran to Him. I want Him more today that I did in the beginning, because I know better what I have. Of course none of us knows completely, but even a little is better than I ever imagined. I hope you know what I mean. If you don’t, it is time to arise and seek and hold on.
Now that you have found Him…NEVER LET HIM GO.
