NEVER NOTHING
When the Spirit of truth come, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. (John 6:13 NLT)
What is God doing? Why doesn’t God do something? Why this and why that? I can say with no hesitation that I have no idea what the answer is to all the questions; except, God knows. Yes, God knows and if we will allow that to be enough of an answer, we will enjoy things a lot more.
This I am certain of; God is never doing nothing! God is always about God’s business, and He always knows what He is doing. It is the world and the devil that are messed up!
Since the beginning and before, God has always been. He spoke the world into existence. He made us with His hands. He has always had a plan for our salvation and eternal life with Him. He planned the death of His son, our savior because He loved us so much. He planned for the arrival of The Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth! And He has made a way and always will make ways for us. So rest in the fact that God is never doing nothing.
He is always for you. He is always beside you. He will make a way when it seems there is no way. He is always doing something for us, in us, with us, and through us.
I had a strange dream that at first was just a mingling of people and what seemed like random events; none of which were particularly outstanding. Then it seemed the Lord pointed out the things involved in what we may think mean nothing.
The things we may see as insignificant, may well be huge in another person’s life and in God’s plan. If we come to accept that God is always doing something and never doing nothing; and if we become seekers of the Lord’s presence and aware of watching for what the Lord might be doing, it will become a powerful way of life.
This is Pentecost Sunday! You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. You can have all kinds of power, but if you do not activate it, you will never know. If you have a floor jack that can lift a thousand pounds, but you keep trying to lift the car to change the tire in your own strength you will not get it done. The power is right there and available but…see what I mean?
God is present. He is willing and able. He desires to help, to show, to guide, to strengthen, and comfort and, well, be God.
Do you trust? Will you trust? Sometimes, maybe most times, better yet all the time, we need to learn that letting God handle things is the way to go. He may handle it by showing you how to handle it. He may handle it and all you have to do is recognize that He has it handled. The simplest solution is all things is to trust God.
It may be the greatest power Holy Spirit gives us the understanding that we can trust God. He is the power. He does everything we trust Him to do. Lay hands on the sick and trust God. Cast out the demons and trust God. Lord, today we receive! We believe! You are doing something!
