NEW BEGINNING
"You will see Him there, just as He told you before He died." (Mark 16:7 NLT)
Even with all the proof that was before them when Jesus walked the earth there were many who refused to believe that He was the Son of God, so I guess it should not be surprising that many today do not believe it either. It is sad that people choose not to believe but it does change the facts.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ marked a new beginning for all of mankind. His resurrection was proof that everything else He said was true. Our personal experience is dependant upon whether or not we will believe what He said. When Jesus told them that all they had to do was really believe and not doubt in their hearts and they could receive anything they asked for, He meant it. When He told them that they should forgive first, He meant that too. Now they were being told that they needed to go to Galilee and they would see Jesus alive again! They had a choice, they could go there and see Him or they could doubt and never see Him. If they did not go, they would not see and they would miss this new beginning.
We have the same opportunities in our lives with Christ. We can choose to believe and move into His kingdom or we can choose not to. Jesus said that we must be born again in order to see the Kingdom of Heaven. Some people say, “tell me more,” and they seek the Lord and they find Him. Others say, “I don’t believe that,” and they never come to know Jesus as savior and Lord. The key to having a relationship with God that is new every morning is to keep on believing. There is nowhere along the road that we can just sit down and feel like we have gone far enough. Not if we want to keep experiencing the truth of His word that is.
If the disciples chose not to go to Galilee, they would not have seen the Lord. If we choose to view everything in life as coincidence, we will never see or acknowledge the Lord working in our lives. Even if we choose a doctrine, creed, or tradition, over the truth we will miss so much.
If we choose not to believe that the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth, then we will never allow Him to do what the Lord said He would do. If we choose not to know the Lord as our healer, then we will never believe that He heals and we will never pray without doubting. If we choose not to believe that those who believe will lay hands on the sick or cast our demons, we will never experience that power in our lives. However, just because someone chooses not to believe something, that does not change the facts for those who do believe.
What will we believe? Do we believe that Jesus rose from the dead just as He said He would? Are we willing to believe everything He says, and as a result experience a walk with God that is full of new beginnings? It can be just as He said if we will only believe. God has plans for many new beginnings in all of our lives.
