NEW WAY

Therefore, since God in His mercy has given us this new way, we never give up. (2 Corinthians 4:1)

How is your NEW WAY going? Is anything new? Chapter 3 ends, telling us that we become more and more like Him, as we are changed into His glorious image! We can be sure that God is always doing His part! His part is complete, our part is a bit of a process.

Working out the fullness of our salvation is a whole new way of life. Never give up on the manifestation of the presence of the Lord who dwells in every person who has called out to the Lord to be a new creature. You did want to be a new creature; right? Like I said, He is going to do his part.

Maybe you called for temporary help. You did not want to change, you just wanted something new or better than you were experiencing at the time. Well, God never gives up and we should not either. We should never give up on the Lord’s ability to complete what He has begun to do in us and for us.

Contentment, peace, joy, freedom, and true happiness can only be found in God. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit never cease to work to bring this new way into manifestation. If you do not see it happening, it is. As I look at this screen, I have no idea what all is going on in the background of this computer. I have no idea what is going on, but I know something is. I know I should be able to print it when it is done. There was a time when I did not know how to do these things, but now I do. There was also a time when I had no use for what a computer could do. If I had, I would have put every penny I had into computer stock and, well you know the rest.

The same can be said for life in Christ and the new way He has made for us. If we really knew, we would take all we have and all we are and go for it. In Christ, when things press us, we know we will not be crushed. When we are confused and don’t understand and are about to go under, we come up for and we do not despair. We can be confident that we are never abandoned by God. Even if we are knocked down, we are not destroyed. (Verses 8-9)

Paul continues in this letter to remind us we are new people (5:17). In chapter 6 He starts telling us not to ask for this wonderful gift and then ignore it, and he ends telling us that God has promised to be our father and that we will be His sons and daughters. What could be better than that? The simple answer is nothing! That is why the devil does everything he can to keep us from seeing that.

Paul, then give us some advice. In chapter 7 he says since we have these promises let’s do something smart with them. Let’s cleanse ourselves from the things that defile us. Let’s put some distance between us and those sins that so easily drag us down and work toward complete holiness, because we love and respect God. If we will set our focus on God, which is holiness, we will see all these things that are stirring around in us, manifest out of us. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. New thinking, acting, speaking, and being. All part of our NEW WAY.
