NO DOUBT ABOUT IT

He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever He promises. (Romans 4:21 NLT)

What is it that you are not quite sure God would do for you? Do you believe that there is nothing God can’t do, but you are not convinced how that fits your circumstance?
Abraham had the most outlandish promise from God and I wonder if he had any idea of the total scope of that promise. I think he was focused on the beginning of the promise, and that was that he would have a son. Even though it took many years and each year seemed to remove the possibility of it ever happening, Abraham held on. Even when he tried to take it into his own hands and it was wrong, he held on to what God promised.
Salvation is a wonderful promise, and yet it is only the beginning of the promises of God. There is so much more in the fullness our salvation and being convinced that there is more is what opens the door. Trusting that God is able should create a desire to learn what He has promised and when we see the promise to grab a hold of it.
Jesus promised we would receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon us and that power would produce amazing things in our lives. How many of us have in fact received power and never really activated it? Or how many have never really sought the gift that Jesus promised?
There are many things in life that stir us up. There are lots of things that we put a lot of effort into. There is a wide range of things out there to entertain us and compete for our time, and there is nothing wrong with much of it. However, coming to the realization that a close relationship with God through Jesus Christ makes everything better is often hidden from our sight.
I believe that every person has many moments in their life when the opportunity to grab the promise of God presents itself. It is even better when we go searching. Abraham responded to one of those moments and God did not disappoint. Yes it may have taken longer and there may have been set backs, but in the end, God did what He promised.
This was given to us to show us that nothing is impossible for God. Jesus stated clearly that if we could believe we would see that nothing is impossible for God. It is not up to us to decide when or how or why things are as they are; it is our privilege to simply keep believing.
We need rain in our part of the country. We need water rain and Holy Spirit rain. Some parts of the country have more than enough water, but there is nowhere that is not in need of more Holy Spirit rain. There is no doubt about that. Refresh your desire for more of the promises and presence of God. Do as Paul told Timothy and stir up that gift of God that is in you. There is no doubt that God will respond to you when you seek Him with all your heart. God is able.
