NON-STOP
"Let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead; by Him this man stands here before you whole." (Acts 4:10 NKJ)
Since the beginning and before that, God has been working. Jesus said that His Father was always working so it was only natural that He would be doing the same. The word of God cannot be stopped. Even if it appears that nothing is going on, God is in perfect control. And so it was with Jesus. Things continued in perfect motion. They crucified Him, and God raised Him from the dead. Then Jesus just kept doing what He was doing.
This was the point that the Holy Spirit was making as Peter spoke. The religious leaders thought they could stop Jesus, but the truth was they only accelerated what God was doing. It increased the speed of the spread of the gospel. When Jesus died He took care of things under the earth while God prepared things for His return. Then God raised Him from the dead. This is eternal evidence that God cannot be stopped.
Because of this we can be sure that Jesus continues to work now just as He did then. Peter understood that it was Jesus. Just as Jesus used miracles while he walked the earth to give evidence of the Kingdom of God, He made sure that everyone knew that nothing had changed. He is a non-stop God. He never stopped and he never will!
Just as Peter declared, “Let it be known,” we should be declaring the same thing. Let it be known that God is in control. Let it be known that Jesus is still performing miracles. Let it be known that nothing is impossible with God. Let it be known that God loves you. Let it be known that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
These are not just words. They are the living Word of God. When we speak them with faith, God watches over them to perform and prove that they are true. Don’t be fooled into thinking that His word has stopped or that it is for some far off time.
Don’t allow the word of God to be put on hold in your life. Don’t set it on the shelf. Don’t try to ignore it. Don’t shake off His touch and try to pretend it never happened. Every day He is speaking and revealing Himself. He is waiting for His word to rise up in us until we cannot help but “let it be known.”
He never stopped. He never will. What He began, He will complete. He is after all, our “Non-stop, Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
