Ever since Adam and Eve were closed out of the garden bad things have happened. And whenever these things happen, there is someone who wonders where God is. Well, that is the key, “God is!” God is present and watching and working all things together for good. When Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, God saw. When Cain killed Able, God saw. When the world was getting so wicked and the people thought they could do what ever they wanted, and Noah was telling them God was about fed up with the whole works, they found out the hard way that God was about His business. And God’s business is taking special care of His family.

Still, there are things that happen to His family and we wonder what is going on. The truth is, only God knows. It is not up to us to try and figure how or why something has happened, but rather by faith to look forward to how God is going to make good out of it. Let’s face it, bad things are bad, and God does not ask us to give thanks for bad things, but rather to give thanks to Him in the midst of them. God is good and is always worthy of praise. When we stand in faith, believing that God can somehow make good out of the most senseless tragedies and situations, we will see the glory of God in every solution. Note, that I said solution. God is glorified in the victories and the good that follows, not by terrible storms, or murders, or other awful things. Remember, God was not in the storm, but He was the still small voice.

When Moses stood at the edge of the sea and Pharaoh was closing in. The people complained that there was no help in God, but Moses said, Oh yes there is!(my words) The same was true for David when he met Goliath, For Joseph on many occasions, for Daniel in the lions den, and for his friends who went to the furnace. It was true for Jesus, and all followers of His. We may not always see the help the way we think it should be, but we must in faith respond to the lies of the devil when He says there is no help in God, with a loud, ” OH YES THERE IS!!

With all that is going on in the world, there are many who will say why doesn’t God do something. I say, what if God were not restraining evil as much as He is? How bad would it be then. How bad would it be if the devil were allowed to kill and maim with no Holy Spirit to battle against him. How bad would it be if we did not have angels to come to our rescue.

And just think of how anxious God is to respond to our cries for help, when in the most desperate of times we declare that the Lord is our shield, our glory, and the one who lifts our heads.(vs. 3) What joy it must give God to see His people glorifying Him before the whole world when they are facing terrible losses and personal pain. Is God going to bless them? You know He is. Is God going to bless those who pray for them? You know He is. Is there help for us in God. OH YES THERE IS!!
