ONE WAY
But I have a greater witness than John—my teachings and my miracles. The Father gave me these works to accomplish, and they prove that He sent me. (John 5:36 NLT)
To begin, I just want to say Happy Mother’s Day. Mothers are special! I have known many women with mother’s hearts that never gave birth. So that mother’s gift is placed there by God, and He said that we should honor mothers; so today we do that.
God made women to give birth. It is the only way no matter what people try to say. In fact, God has lots of one-way things on His list. First and foremost on the list, is Jesus. He is the one way to heaven. This is obvious to most who might read this, but it is not obvious to everyone, and everyone needs to know.
Life is a great gift that mothers give to children, but there is another gift that is even greater. Mothers can train up their children in the way of the Lord. Mothers sow seeds of eternal life living the life that Christ Jesus offers everyone who will call on His name. Again, He is the one way!
I often sing the line, Mothers, tell your children, not to do what I have done, from the song of my youth. I now refer to it as the HOUSE OF THE RISING SON; He changes everything.
Tell someone that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Don’t be shy. Don’t be afraid that someone might be offended. Sow the seed! Meet the need. Yes, people need the Lord.
Very early in my walk, I began writing articles that I labeled, The Narrow Way. They were in the newspaper weekly, until they weren’t! The explanation was never clear, but the message that they could not be in the paper any longer. I admit that I did spend some time trying to figure out who complained, but the Lord said let it go.
If you love Jesus, you are bound to run into folks who don’t like the idea. Don’t worry about it. There are multitudes who are looking for hope. I think we are in a special time right now for hearts to be filled with Jesus.
Jesus told the disciples, and He tells us that the fields are ripe for the harvest. Don’t wait until God pushes you, respond to His gentle nudges. If you feel like this might be the time to mention how great Jesus is, do it!
Don’t let people go on thinking there are many ways and that they are ok with those ways. We cannot look to anyone but Jesus. I know I am repeating myself, but it is important enough to repeat that Jesus is THE ONE AND ONLY WAY.
Allow Holy Spirit to stir you up. Respond to His promptings. If you don’t know Jesus this is a great day to say, “Jesus come into my heart. Holy Spirit come and transform my life.” If you do know Jesus, do someone a favor and talk about how much you love Him. Wedge a door open. Plant a seed. Meet the need that God put in every person’s heart. No one can ever be completely satisfied until that spot is filled with Jesus. Yes! Jesus is the One and Only Way.
