Have you ever had anyone tell you that you need to be more open minded? Has anyone ever suggested that your belief that Jesus is the only way to God is narrow minded and even cruel? This scripture tells us that Jesus opened their minds so that they could understand the scriptures. A truly opened mind understands the truth of God’s Word. I know that some might think that is a narrow-minded statement, but it is in fact the truth that truly sets men free.

The message of Jesus is the only one that offers forgiveness to all who will come to Him. It is the only message of hope and love. Jesus promises peace and declares a blessing for peacemakers. Yes the message also warns of great destruction to come, but at the same time it offers a place of safety for those who believe. There is no other message that offers that. Every other message offers conditional rewards but Jesus offers it as a gift.

I am not aware of any other god mentioning a love or devotion to those who come to their way of believing. Only the God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ speaks of being a Father who is faithful to His children. He never speaks of stealing from or destroying those around us who do not believe as we do. He tells us to take the good news to everyone and to trust Him to accomplish His will with the seed. It is the devil that destroys and kills and steals.

Again I say that He does remind us of a day when all who will not turn from sin and come to God will meet a bitter end, but that will be by their own choice. That is why Jesus continually said to decide today to hear His voice. He is not threatening anyone so that they will follow Him, He is warning them of disaster ahead just as Noah did as he was building the ark. In a sense, God has called us all to build an ark. Noah only managed to get his family on board. That is my first and greatest desire to have my family on the boat with me. Then I want everyone else who will believe the good news. Truly, I agree with God in His desire that no one perish.

As we build our boat, we want to make sure that we don’t build it with holes in it. We must make sure that every crack is sealed with the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. We need to determine that the only thing we want our minds opened to is the truth that God speaks. May He put a filter in place that screens out all that is not true. Praise God if you are accused of being narrow minded in your faith in God and our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ. Many are weak and sick and ready to perish because they opened their minds to the deceit of the one who wants to destroy them.

Ask God for the power from on high to stand against every thing that the enemy tries to throw at you. This is not the time to weaken or relax. This is the time to enter in His rest. It is the time to dwell in the secret place of the Most High. Stay focused.
