OUR HOUSE
For you died, and your life and your life is hidden with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:3 NKJ)
Some time ago, I had a dream about being in a place that was very strange to me at first. In that place there turned out to be a house and the more time I spent in the house the more I found in and around the house and it seemed that when I looked for something it was there. God reminded me of this dream recently and so I set about to find the notes I had written about this dream but to this point have yet to find them. Interestingly, as I have searched I have found many more things hidden in the recesses of my mind and in other notes from other revelations.
Finally, as I lay down last night asking the Lord again about this dream the obvious hit me; the place, the house, and everything involved in the dream was Him! We have our home in Him!
This is a very foreign place when we first find ourselves in Him. Previous to our lives in Christ we were totally immersed in the natural and He is super natural. For the most part, in our natural lives we are pretty cautious about the super natural. We all peak in from time to time, but usually it is not into the super natural of Christ, more often than not people peak into a super natural that is more dangerous than they realize and the devil takes every advantage that he can.
So getting back to this place, it was a place that was full of different. When I say different, I mean different from anything I had known. There was a dark cloud that looked like a tunnel. There was a house that was a house that I was not familiar with but it seemed I felt compelled to get familiar with it. At first I felt like I was in the place as a captive, but more and more realized there was great freedom to be had. Then when the Holy Spirit poured the obvious out on me, that the place was in Him, it all began to fall into place like a long line of dominos.
When we first truly seek the Lord, we find ourselves in a very unfamiliar place. We may feel very good about the initial birth, only to find ourselves wondering, “Now what,” as we enter unfamiliar territory. If we will stay and continue to seek, we will find that what seems unfamiliar is really very familiar because it is where we were made to be.
For instance, I discovered that when I looked for something in the house, it was there. If I wondered about something I found it. Now if it was there before I looked or if it manifested when I wondered about it, I do not know. What I do know is that the more I consider this the more I understand what God intends for us when we are in Him.
The bottom line is that at most, we have discovered only a little of what God has for us in Him. It is time for all of us to get very familiar with the home we have in Him and invite everyone to come on in. Our house is a very, very, very, nice house! Remember that song?
