OUR PART

Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart... (Matthew 22:37)

I was thinking about our present times, about the Word of God, and about how it all applies to my life now. I truly believe that God has great things in store for those who believe Him and trust Him. I also believe that everything may not always appear to be great, but even then, I am certain that those who wait on the Lord will not be disappointed. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, so He is still able to make streams in the desert, rough places smooth and etc. God has not run out of resources, nor has He run out of desire to bless His children so that His children can in turn be blessings. I do not profess to understand all that goes on, but I do know the One who does understand it all and I believe that He will give me the understanding I need.

In all of this, I believe there is a wave of the glory of God that is coming, and this wave is going to flood the world; turning the hearts of people to God. With this will also come all that is needed to meet the needs of everyone who comes to Him. There were many more things going through my mind and heart when I said to the Lord, “So what is my part in all of this Lord?” His response was, “Your part is to love Me with all of your heart.”

Now isn’t that simple? I don’t believe this is just my individual part in His plan. I think this same part belongs to all of us. This part has never changed, and yet I think we all get caught up in thinking that God expects something else a bit more complicated from us. It may also be that we all want to do something much bigger. However if we seriously consider this part, we will understand that there is nothing bigger than loving God. In fact, sometimes we may find that we want to do other things trying to prove we love Him because loving Him the way we know we should is too hard.

The truth is, loving God can be a pretty complex thing. Loving God with all of our heart requires loving our enemies, blessing those that curse us, praying for those who use us, and well I think you get the picture. It is in loving God with all of our heart that we open up to receive all the Love He desires to place in us and pour through us.

I don’t want to miss one thing that God has in store for those who love Him, and I am sure that you feel the same way. I believe that God is showing me that the way to be position for all that is coming in this wave of His glory is to perfect our love for Him. He loves us with perfect love and this is the Love that Jesus desires us to love with.

I believe we can do this. What could be easier than loving God? Actually loving God is easy, it is loving like God loves that is difficult. Still, we can do it if we want to. I feel like God is saying that I should no longer say I want to, but rather that I will! Let’s even go a step further and declare, “I do love the Lord with all my heart and I love with God’s love.” That is speaking of things that are not as thought they are! Happy New Year!
