PEACE IN CHAOS

I pray that God will give you peace in your minds. I pray that He will be with all of you and help you. (Romans 15:33)

As we know, our battle for personal peace is won and lost in our minds. If we can just get it settled in our minds then we can see our way through. However, without God, there really is no peace that will last. Even with God, if we try to achieve our own peace it will get in the way of Gods’ perfect peace.

While in prayer I considered how God manages to keep His peace! He sees all of the chaos in our world and He remains calm. He could change it in a moment. With one word everything would change. We wonder what He is waiting for. We want Him to do it now, but then again do we really want Him to do it now?

Really just thinking about that sort of settles me down! I am glad He knows the time and when it is time we start a whole new time. He keeps His peace, because He knows! We can keep our peace as well because we know that He knows! Oh Lord, you know!

I have to say that since last week when we looked at peace, I have noticed my peace being attacked on a regular basis. Perhaps that is because I recognize it more or perhaps it because a new door of war was opened.

I do know that being more aware has increased my determination to fight for the peace that I know is mine. I have not been willing to let it slide and get back to it later or excuse myself from the battle. As a result there have been more battles but more battles mean more victories. More victories mean more peace.

God keeps His peace and He gives us His peace and His peace is the only peace that rules in chaos.

When we let our peace go and allow His peace to rule, then we have peace in our minds. His ways are above our ways and His thoughts above our thoughts. Who can know the mind of God? We do not know everything God thinks or does, but we can know His peace! His peace assures us that it is well. His peace assures us that He knows and cares. His peace brings His truth to the forefront of all of our battles.

Try treating those attacks on your peace like a hot potato; get rid of them quickly! Don’t meditate on them or allow your mind to think of things that will only make it worse. Be quick to remind yourself you don’t want to say those things. Speak the word of God with boldness to yourself. Fill your mind with thoughts about good things! (Philippians 4:8) May God bless you with peace!
