The final R of seeing is receiving. Interestingly, or obviously, receiving plays a role in every aspect of seeing and in fact one must receive Christ in order to see God at all. It is through Christ that we recognize God because if we have seen Him we can see the father. With that, let us go on and receive what God has for us.

Since we are in the computer age, it stands to reason that God had computers figured out long before they were invented. In fact His ways have always been plug and play. He never intended for them to be complicated. Religion has done its best to make everyone use a complicated and cumbersome operating system but God speaks of the simplicity that is in Christ.

Long before I knew God, a friend gave me two thick books and told me I needed to learn the computer language so I could use a new computer system. Well, I was not really into computers at all and it did not take me long to say that I really did not care to figure out DOS or any other computer language. Fortunately for me things changed and I am really happy to point and click.

This line of thinking came as I was praying and God told me to plug in and sync! Now there are lots of things that take place on the computer that very few actually know much about. We have all sorts of update boxes pop up on our computers. There are java updates and security updates as well as software updates and spyware updates. Most of them we click ok on because they are for the good of the system. Of course we need to wise when clicking ok!

Well, we never need to be concerned about plugging in and syncing with the Lord. All of His updates are the best and guaranteed to make everything function better. We simply need to receive the word of God engrafted. We must be convinced that all scripture is God breathed. If we cannot receive that truth we will forever be stumbling in our conception, perception, and reception of the things of God and God Himself. That is why Jesus said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” The Holy Spirit leads us into all truth!

If we fail to receive the benefits of all that God has promised us, how will anyone else see the goodness of God in the land of the living? Receiving from God completes the purpose of all that God promised. He gave His Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. It is only in receiving Him that we honor God and show that we believe Him. When we received that great gift of salvation, we set ourselves up to receive all the promises of God. If we refuse to plug in and sync and receive the updates and the increase of the knowledge of God we come short of being complete and run the risk of being obsolete in the Kingdom of God.

Just as storage and speed have increased exponentially in computers, so God desires that we increase exponentially in His Word and in His Kingdom. If we can believe it, we can receive it. Truly, all things are possible with God to them that believe.
