POWER

When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. (Romans 5:6)

If we are helpless, His power is not. The power of God is always present, to save, heal, deliver, protect, provide, and every other thing that we could name. Whatever we could ever need is provided in the name of Jesus.

I have glimpsed the power of God enough to know that there is always more. When we read that we only see a little, we know that is the truth. One of many things we must do is to want more! Keep looking and focusing and then look again.

There is power in the name of Jesus. There is power in the blood. There is power to save. There is power to change. There is power. There is protection. There is life.

Romans chapter 4, tell us about Abraham and how he believed God. He did not believe Him perfectly it would seem, but he held on to the promise of God and God liked that. Even though Abraham made questionable choices, God did not change. God never changes, but the name of Jesus provides the power for us to change.

Something has to change! When things do not go our way, we want things to change. We want someone else to change! We want circumstances to change! God can do all of that!

We must consider the idea that what God really wants is to change us. The same power that raised Christ from the dead is working in us to transform us. He is present. If we present ourselves to Him. We will discover new things about His power. Change me oh Lord!

Change my attitude God. Change the way I look at things. Help me to see what you see. Change me Lord and I will be changed. What if I don’t want to change? Now there is the issue. There is the root of things. When we prefer our way over God’s way, it is the wrong way!

Jesus was not necessarily looking forward to the cross. As the pressure built and the time got close, He was having those “something has to change feelings” and thoughts. Have you felt that way? He told His followers that he was being crushed and so he led them out so He could pray. As He prayed and sweated drops of blood, He told God about it all. In the end He chose what God wanted. We all benefited.

Paul wrote to his followers and assured them that the same God who took care of him would supply all their needs as well. Sometimes, we do not necessarily know what we really need. The truth is we need the will of God. The will of God is to transform us by the renewing of our minds.

I am always challenged by Jesus statement that He always pleased God. He always did and said what God wanted. I want that! Each time we choose God’s will and way, we do that!

The power of God is working in us to change us from glory to glory. How great is our God?
