POWERFUL FATHER

Yes, it is God who is working in you. He helps you want to do what pleases Him, and He gives you the power to do it. (Philippians 2:13 ERV)

With God as our Father, we can never say that we can’t do what He asks or expects of us! We must remember that along with the want, He gives us the power. As a father, I have done my best to help my children with anything that I could. One thing is certain that I never asked them to do anything they could not do and I never refused to help with what I asked. If you are a bible reader, you probably remember Jesus words concerning the fact that compared to God we are evil and we do good things for our children; how much more then will our heavenly Father do for us. This should give us confidence!

With the confidence that God is for us, we can know that we are going to get through. There are some things that we just cannot go over, under, or around, but we have God’s promise to see us through. It will get over and we will be victorious. That is God’s promise. Jesus went through things I will never have to go through and that I do not want to go through. He endured the cross holding on to His Father’s promise. Even though He felt forsaken He knew He was not. He held on to the joy set before Him.

Jesus said that He came so our joy would be made complete. We can be sure that He will keep that promise. He has given us the power to get through. Remember that. Tell yourself that in every circumstance where the devil is lying and telling you that you have been forsaken or that this is more than you can handle. We must learn to tell ourselves that we will make it. Let’s face it, we are capable of lots of thinking that flies in the face of what God has promised and we cannot always blame it on the devil. We choose who we will listen to. So let’s listen to what God says. And if He says that He will empower us to do what He wants us to, then we can be sure He will do it.

Do you ever wonder why we try to convince ourselves that it is too hard? In Colossians 1:23 we are told to continue strong in our faith. Continuing is the key. Keep going. Keep believing. Keep trusting. Remember, we serve a powerful, loving Father. We have the Savior of the world interceding for us and encouraging us. We have huge crowd of witnesses who have gone before us cheering us on. Listen to the crowd going crazy over you!

Life is in Him. Without Him there is no life! He wants us to have that life more than anything and because of that, He has given us the power to get all the life He has promised.

So continue in the truth. Refuse to believe the lie that says that God is not who He says He is. Above all remember that He is your Father; if He is your Father. If He is not your Father then tell Him you are ready to be adopted so that you can enjoy the family plan that He has for you. Thank you God for being my Father. I Love you so much!
