PREACH
How shall they hear without a preacher? (Romans 10:14 NKJ)
Well, we have covered from position to proof in the last several devotions. They have been referred to in our church as the “P” messages and there are many other P’s that could be covered and may be covered but right now we are at a very important one for all believers. Yes, all believers preach. There are those who have been specifically called and anointed to prepare others to go into all the world, and when they go, they too preach.
If you are reading this and you believe in God and are a Christian, then you preach. Your life is a message. Your life tells others something about God. Your life also provides you opportunities to say or to preach with your mouth the “Good News” of the kingdom. So as the Bible says, we should be prepared at all times share. In order to share we need to be reminded that we should.
Deep down we all know that we should tell the good news, but in truth, we are afraid we won’t do it right. Or maybe we think it is up to preachers to do that. Often times we feel like we barely have a grip on it, so how can we help anyone else. Well we need to remember that it is God who gives the increase, we simply need to obey. There is an old song that says, “All I gotta do is, act naturally.” If we act like the Spirit of God is leading us to act, then we will preach some great sermons to people. Even if we act the opposite, we will have opportunity to preach.
Just think, when people know that we are Christians and then we act like God is nowhere to be found, we have perfect opportunity to declare God is good even when we are not. We have the position to prove it. We can encourage others that we realize God is working on us and that He is just waiting for the opportunity to work in their lives. We have the platform to talk about the merciful God we know and love.
Our lives tell people that being with God is a joy or we may be saying that it is curse. Yes there are many Christians who give off the message that being with God is such a struggle that those who see them feel like they are better off without God. This just is not true, and I know that those believers do not intend to give off that message. They just do not realize that they are preaching a word that God never intended. They forget that Jesus said to rejoice because He has overcome the world.
Today I am challenged and I challenge you to be aware of what message you are preaching. I also encourage you to be prepared to share the hope that you have in you. To be willing to simply speak a word or several words to let someone know that God cares and that He has a position for all who will just call on Him. To be willing to say that there is great potential for a great life and that if people will give God the opportunity, He will prove that what you are saying is true. Like I say, every action, good or bad can be turned into a God moment. Wherever you go, go expecting God to open a door. Expect God to bless you in order to reveal His goodness. Preach!
