I think we all agree that it is important to keep track of our progress in our walk with God. We should be making progress, right? This may have been what you expected this devotion to be about, and it may be that God will use it to encourage us all to check our progress; however the real motivation behind it is to give us a glimpse into how this prayer, that we all know so well, progressively opens doors in the Kingdom of God!

The first door we open when we call Him Father is faith. We know that we must believe that God is! He is not just any Father or any god; He is the one true God and He is our Father and heaven is His home. This is all elementary to most of you reading this, however I know it must excite you as the Holy Spirit bears witness to the truth!

Believing He is who He says He is and acknowledging Him as Father, opens the door for His name to flow into our lives. His name is savior, healer, provider, protector, deliverer and all things good. God is good. It is so important that we are convinced of His goodness; if we are not, we are susceptible to those lies of enemy that accuse God of doing and being evil. Luke 6:35 tells us that God is kind even to the unthankful and evil people! Oh how He loves every one and desires that everyone come to His love.

The confidence that we have in the first two steps throws open the door for the Kingdom of God and the will of God to rule in our lives. Jesus told the disciples that when they went into a town, if the people received them they were supposed to heal the sick and tell them that the Kingdom of God had come near them. Wow just getting close produces amazing results.

With the Kingdom of God surrounding us and the will of God directing our life, we can rejoice just imagining the daily bread God has in store for those who love Him. He has promised to supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory! We know that there is nothing lacking there. If we can believe Him and receive who He is, we can put an end to any doubts we might have about His good plans for us.

When we know God in this way, we have confidence that no sin is greater than His willingness and ability to forgive. We know that we can confess and repent and stay in His love. Our love and confidence in Him then enables us to forgive others as He forgives us and as we do this we become even more securely wrapped in His love.

Finally, we know that there is no way God would lead us into temptation. There is no way He would tempt us with anything that could separate us from Him! We know that He is the one who delivers us! Let the praise begin as we break into His kingdom, power, and glory.
