READY TO BELIEVE

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Many people are ready to believe God’s message. They are like many plants with ripe seeds in a big field. But there are very few workers to bring in the ripe seeds. (Mat 9:37)

I was considering this verse recently and felt prompted to share it with a woman who was helping me. When I said that there were people ready to believe, she paused and said that she was ready. I said that is great and spoke a bit more and then she said no that she was ready. So, I replied, “you are already ready, that is great! God bless you.” To that she said, “I think so.” I left the water to soak in.

Sometimes we think we are ready for something only to discover that maybe we are not. Other times we find out we are more ready than we thought. I thought I was ready for a long time. Actually, I hoped I was ready. Well perhaps I really did not care if I was ready! Maybe I never really thought about the need to be ready. Do you follow me here? All that time, I think God was getting me ready.

You see, we do not know who is ready! Jesus simply said to go and share the good news. Who gives you strength and hope? Who helps you? Who do you call on? Why do you have joy and peace? It is good tell about God’s love in the morning and His faithfulness at night!

Being ready, never stops. Once have believed, we are continually being made ready for the things of God as well as the things of this life.

There is a lot of stuff in this life that we are required to deal with, and God has provided us all that we need to not only deal with things, but to overcome and be victorious in all things. Are you ready to believe that?

Are we ready to believe that God cares about our circumstances even when it looks to us like He is ignoring us and has no clue what we are going through? We need to be ready to believe God because everything in the world is set up to keep us from the truth.

Christ in us knows the truth and He gives us the power to overcome the deception. So, we can say, “I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise shall continually be in my mouth. The Lord is my refuge and strength. He is always present, not just in my troubles but at all times! Are we ready to trust God?

Remember, He has given us access to His Kingdom. Jesus made the way for us all. We start with believing! Then we continue to dwell in the secret place of the Most High. Have we really been made more than conquerors? All things are possible with God!

Some days we are sure that it is all true; other days we have to work to even consider that God cares. Well, it is worth the effort. We can follow Paul’s advice and forget what is behind, or put what is coming against us behind, and reach for what we need as we press on to the higher place God is calling us to. He is always encouraging us to come closer. Use the troubles to get closer to God. Are we ready to do that? Are we ready to believe God’s message?
