REFLECT PEACE
Instead, help one another and be kind to each other. Forgive one another. Remember that God has forgiven you because of what Christ has done. (Ephesians 4:32 EASY)
So, we know that the only real and lasting peace is in Christ. We know that if we seek peace and pursue it, we will find it even in chaos. And, we know that we can expect peace and that it is worth waiting for. So now, with this understanding of peace, all that is left is to reflect peace.
Yes, as we let peace rule, we should be aware of what we reflect for the world to see. Lord lift up your countenance upon us and give us peace. Do we want peace only for ourselves, or do we understand that everything from God is something that is intended to be passed on.
True peace and life come from making God and His desires our priority. We all have times in our lives when what we prefer jumps up and attempts to block out what God wants. Whenever our preferences come before what God wants, we will discover that peace is hard to find!
Have you ever noticed that we often have opinions about things that are not really our business to do anything about except pray? We have opinions about how other people keep their yards, or how they spend their money, or the clothes they wear, or how they wear their hair. We have opinions about just about everything! Well, it is certainly ok to have an opinion, but what happens when we let that take over our thoughts and we rumble and grumble and well you know what I am talking about. Before that takes us down a wrong path, why don’t we pray?
When we pray, we will find peace knocking on the door ready to come in and it will turn our frown upside down. It makes me smile just to think about it. Sometimes, I have to just laugh at myself for the path I was headed down. I am so glad that God is ready to rescue us whenever we call.
Oh, if we just remember to think on the things that are right and just and pure and praise worthy; it is not what we want, it is what God wants. He calls for us do what is just, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with Him. Jesus is the Prince of Peace. Remember, peace is a person not a feeling. In Christ, we are secure.
We know that God tells us He will give us the desires of our heart. Deep down, we all desire the peace of God that passes understanding. When things are smooth in our lives, we can believe that this is not only possible but it is true. However, when troubles come, that is the time to put it in practice. We must speak truth to ourselves and be prepared to hear truth when it is spoken.
We fight the good fight reminding ourselves we must not worry! I just need to pray. I need to remember to thank God that I know He hears me. I know peace is on the way. Now to reflect it by faith! Let’s make it a priority to put God’s preferences first!
