REMEMBER

For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given...(Isaiah 9:6a NKJ)

There are some things we don’t care to remember, and there are other memories that we often like to go back to. Often times God reminds us of things in scripture because it is always beneficial to remember the things He has done and the purpose of His doing them. His word is full of the key things that will help us to get beyond those memories that we would prefer not have and to look forward to the memories He has planned for us.

This scripture reminds us that God planned for the birth of Jesus long before anyone ever saw Him. It is the truth, and no matter how much the enemy may work trying to get Jesus removed from daily life, he will fail.

Of course we want to remember the birth of our savior, but we also want to remember that He is no longer a baby, and that it is not just a cute story. Not only was a child born, but also a Son was given. Yes, Jesus was, is, and always will be the Son of God. Scripture goes on to tell us that the government will be upon His shoulder. He is working in this world and He can handle things. He is The Wonderful Counselor! He can figure things out and He can give the guidance that everyone needs. All we need to do is ask.

He is Mighty God. He is powerful, He is perfect, and He is on the side of everyone who will call upon His Name. He said, “If you can believe; all things are possible to them that believe. Can you believe He said that? If we cannot believe He said that, then we will never believe all things are possible. If we will believe He said it and that He would never lie, then we can believe all that He ever said or did. We will also believe that He is not done yet!

Yes, oh yes! Jesus is the real deal! Remember that! Our first reaction might be to say that we would never forget, but if we will be honest and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to us, we can all admit that our actions often declare that we do not remember a thing. We have thoughts, we say and do things, and then wonder how in the world such thoughts, words, or actions could be in our lives.

Let’s face it, we are all works in progress. There may be someone reading this that has never really started the process. You may have never considered Jesus as anything more than a Child Who was born, and yet you feel something when He is mentioned. We all need to remember those moments when God has touched us. Believe me, He has touched everyone at one time or another. Until we know Jesus, we just never realize that it was Him.

Be sure to take time to remember that the child who was born came to die in order to save you and the world. If you are saved, remember those who are not. If you are not saved, then this could be the greatest day of your life. Remember! Whoever calls on the name of the Lord, will be saved.
