RIDE PROSPEROUSLY

And in Your majesty ride prosperously because of truth, humility, and righteousness; and Your right hand shall teach You awesome things. (Psalm 45:4 NKJV)

Would it be safe to say that everyone wants to prosper? The definition of prosper is to succeed, or to cause to succeed; to achieve economic success; to flourish, thrive; or to cause to succeed or thrive. So on some level everyone wants some part of the idea of prosperity which is the condition of being successful or thriving. It is not a sin to prosper! It may be more sinful not to increase in the Kingdom of God because God desires that we prosper and be in health as our souls prosper. We surely should be seeing to it that our souls prosper. If that is the case it would only stand to reason that the rest follows the plan.

I know that this scripture is speaking prophetically of Christ. I also know that He dwells richly in everyone who gives Him a place to dwell. So as I read this I had to ask myself if I had the right to limit His majesty. I have free will, but does that give me a right to limit Him? He will not impose His will on me, so what makes me think I should impose my will on Him by limiting Him? One thing is for sure, just because it is my right to choose, does not make it the right thing to do.

Once again I am reminded that He specifically told us not to forget His benefits. The Kingdom of God is a prosperous kingdom and it is full of God’s benefits. Truly, everyone in the world would like to prosper, but the truth is there are many who have been robbed of all hope of it ever happening. Even then they would still like it.

A hungry person would consider it prosperous to have some food. That may not sound like prosperity to someone who has more than enough food, to the hungry person it is. A sick person would like to prosper or succeed in getting well and better yet having good health. To a tormented person peace would be prosperity. If a person is sad, they would find prosperity in joy. So, can we agree that everyone would like to prosper?

Now the truth is that there are some who want to prosper on the backs of others. Some just want things handed to them, but that does not change the fact that they would like to prosper. So if it is God’s will that we do prosper and if He provides the means in His word of making it happen, who are we to limit His majesty?

In order to cause others to prosper, it is necessary for us to be prosperous. In order for us to truly prosper, we need to plan to prosper according to His plans. Too many people have thought that every day life and God life were separate lives. That is wrong. God planned for the God life to give us the good life. God’s plan is to give us great success from glory to glory. No matter where we start, there is another level. Rise to it. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t or that you should not want to.
