What is right in the sight of God? I really think that deep down everyone would like to be right in the sight of God. The question is what is right in His sight? I don’t believe God ever intended that it be difficult to figure out the answer to this question. May I go so far as to say it will not be that way for anyone who will simply let God be the one to answer it?

May I also say that the very fact that you want to know what is right in God’s sight, makes you right in His sight? Just because we may need a little work and a little fine tuning from time does not change the fact that God loves us. I surely do not know everything, but I do know this. When I glanced toward God He quickly leaned on me. I mean He just wrapped His arms around me and let me know that I was welcome. At that moment I became right in His sight. I became a prime candidate to purchase real estate in His Kingdom and He had the tools to sell me on the idea. So never doubt that you personally are special to Him and when you consider what is right in His sight, you can be sure that you are!

Now then, back to the question of what is right in His sight. In this instance, the disciples had a choice to make as to whether or not they should continue spreading the good news. They knew that God told them to do what they were doing, so until God told them different this was an easy choice for them. It was also easy for them to put it into understandable terms for the religious leaders. They of all people should be able to figure out that doing what God said was the right thing to do.

This is really the best way to approach everything in life. All we need to do is ask what is the right thing in God’s sight? There is nothing complicated about finding out what God wants if we will ask Him. It is when we start listening to other voices before we talk to God, that we run into problems. By the time we finally do decide to ask God our minds are so cluttered that we come away confused and discouraged.

The best way to overcome all of the confusion is to become thoroughly convinced that God’s way is the best way and that He always knows what is right. Then before we will even consider anything else He will be the first one we look to.

Start with small things. Begin to seek what is right in His sight as you start your day. It is always right to give thanks to the Lord so start giving Him thanks. It is always right to trust Him so trust Him for your next breath. See you just took that breath! Say, “God is good!” Do you feel God smiling on you right now? You are doing things that are right in His sight. Keep practicing in those simple things and soon that is what you will do in all things. Then you will be doing what is right in His sight, and it won’t seem hard at all. It will be as natural as breathing.
