SEE AND ENTER

Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God. (John 3:3)

There have been times that I entered a one way street or found myself on the wrong road because I missed a sign. I’ve even found myself in the wrong restroom once or twice! In every case I still saw where I was going and recognized where I was even if it was after the fact. In looking at the sign(s) I was able to see where I missed it, and had I seen the sign(s) I would not have been in the wrong place in the first place.

This scripture reveals what we must do in order to see the Kingdom of God. You would think that everyone would want to see the Kingdom of God, right! I don’t think so! If everyone wanted to see the Kingdom, everyone would be born again. So why doesn’t everyone want to see the Kingdom of God? I think that one big problem is that people do not know what it is that they have the opportunity to see.

In Jesus day, the religious leaders did their best to keep a veil over what Jesus was talking about. They did their best to discredit his miracles and demonize His ministry so people would be afraid to peek in and see what it was really all about. That is why it is so important that we promote the Kingdom of God.

I had a friend call me today to tell me that he was working on some ideas to minister to people concerning hearing God and how some people think it sounds crazy to suggest that people hear from God. I told him that it would be pretty hard to say that you know someone that you have never talked with. So, how many people say they know God and yet would never consider Him talking to them?

I believe a major factor that is keeping people from desiring to see, is that so few who do see, bother to enter. Yes, it is possible to see, take a glimpse of, peek at, the Kingdom of God and then pass, on the opportunity to enter. You know it is true. Many people come to the understanding of the gospel and are born again, but then stop short of entering into the Kingdom of God and living by Kingdom principles.

If we do not enter, then we have nothing to offer that would encourage anyone else to desire the Kingdom. On the other hand, if we enter, we can be living, breathing billboards for the Kingdom of God. Remember the woman at the well? She believed Jesus and she entered. Then she went to tell everyone and because of what they saw in her they wanted the same opportunity. Then they listened to Jesus and double believed.

If we are going to go where God wants to take us, we need to keep seeing and keep entering. Each new place requires us to yield ourselves to God, look at what He is showing us, and enter deeper into His Kingdom.
