SHOW THE WAY

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can endure. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

God promises to show us a way out. He promises that He will help us endure. We can trust what He says. What He says He will do, He will do. When we have made it through, we can show someone else the way.

Jesus is the way. We have the great privilege of showing Him to the world. Giving thanks to the Lord and talking about Him and bragging about what He has done allows people to know what they may not know.

I have often said that trusting God is not a problem for me. I do not trust Him perfectly, but I trust Him. I surely do not understand everything, but I believe Him. It is so much easier to believe and trust than it is to try and understand everything.

If God says that He will show a way out. He will show a way out. We need to note that God is talking about showing us a way out of temptation. Sometimes people try to make this verse say that God will not stack more on us that we can stand. When things come at us, He immediately shows us a way out. He immediately tells us that He is with us and He has got this situation. We immediately have His comfort available.

I know it is a challenge and the natural thinking is, “oh what next?” So often people plan for something worse to come and we begin to tell ourselves that we cannot take any more. We are not supposed to take anything. We are supposed to cast the care on God the moment it shows up.

Again, we can trust God. We can trust Him before anything even starts. We can remind ourselves when we wake up, that God is faithful. This is a day the Lord has made. God is for me! No weapon formed against me can prosper.

We recently looked at the grace of God and how it will get us through. As I have considered this, I was reminded that it is His grace. We need to remember that His grace is a flowing well, and we do not control the tap. I say that because we need to guard against trying to decide how His grace works. We are all tempted at times to judge what God will do and how far His mercy and grace will go.

His promises are His promises. We have no business limiting what He will do. Remember our eyes have not seen, nor have we heard, and we do not have the understanding to decide the ways of God and His love. There is still more! He does make a way. That is all we really need to say.

We can be confident, and we can encourage others with our story. We all have a story about what God has done. Someone is waiting to hear it. Someone is looking for the way out and the way to endure. I don’t necessarily know the how, but I do believe God. I believe you can do it too.
