STILL YOU

I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. (Philippians 1:6 NLT)

Yes, you/we are the object of God’s love. All that He has done has been done so that we will bring Him glory by reflecting His glory. So, as we begin to understand what He has done for us, it should naturally turn us back to Him, causing us to say to Him, “You Lord are all I need!”

I can trust you, Lord. I will always turn to you and trust you. I will magnify you, Lord. I will declare your faithfulness, Lord. You are right, Lord. You are perfect. You alone are worthy of my praise.

Often as I read the Psalms and the lists of troubles, and lack of understanding that tries to take them over, I get ready to rejoice, because they cannot go on without ultimately declaring how great God is.

You might be in a place where you can only think of what is not working. This happens to unbelievers as well as believers. If we forget about the goodness of God and the plans of God and jump on the train to despair, it only takes us closer to the place where we will finally look up and realize God has not moved from our side. If we have only known about God but never known Him, the hope is that we will finally turn to Him.

How blessed we are when we turn to Him because we know He is still God. It is still you Lord who comfort, protect, plan, and provide for me. You alone are God. You do not change God. You are still at work to draw all the people unto yourself and finish what you have begun.

Truly, it is a wonderful life that God gives us. We know that! Until we forget! How blessed we are that Holy Spirit reminds us! How blessed we are that He never grows weary of reminding us that nothing is too difficult for You Lord. It is still you who does above and beyond what we could ever hope or imagine.

Even when we forget and fall short of your Glory, You never fall short of being you. I exalt you, Lord. I cannot help but praise you. I give you thanks Lord. I love you so much Lord. Just thinking about the Lord should produce praise and thanksgiving. The sad truth is, we sometimes forget! We look at what we see and forget what we know and when we do not like what we see we complain rather than proclaim the goodness of God.

A young woman stopped me the other day in a store to tell me all that God has done for her. It was a wonderful story. She also told me that she just loves to tell people what God has done, and that she loves to apologize to people when she slips up. I just listened and rejoiced and held back the tears. She knew it was God and she gave God all the glory.

What has God done in your life and for your life? Take a little time and do some inventory. You will find things that you may not have seen God in before, but He was still there. He still is. It is still all about you God.
