STORAGE-BAGGAGE

Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. (1 Corinthians 2:9 NKJ)

Recently the Lord has been working with me, helping me gain victory in a particular area. He keeps telling me to fight the good fight of faith! He is a constant voice in the midst of this reminding me that I must win. The more I respond, the quicker He is to step in and keep me out of trouble. This once again confirms to me that He is more than willing to help if we are willing to receive.

Today He was telling me that I had done well recently, but I still needed to improve. I agreed, and mentioned that I would need more of His kind of help. In response He told me that it was all stored up for me. This brought to mind the idea of storage. We all have things that are stored somewhere. Most of us in America have more stuff than we have room to store. That is why there are mini storage places everywhere we look. It gives us more places to store stuff!

The thing about the storage is remembering where we stored something or if we stored it at all. Very few of us actually mark the boxes and enter the inventory when we go to put things away. Even when we travel, we may be certain that we put something in our luggage but when we get where we are going we can’t find it. Even worse, sometimes when we get home and it has disappeared!

Fortunately, God’s storage does not work that way. The things He has stored for us are readily accessible. We simply need to call, and there it is. We can call for strength, help, wisdom, peace, joy, understanding, and well you can put in your own thoughts. Every bit of it is prepared and waiting for us.

There are times, when baggage gets in the way of what is stored. I am sure that there have been times in all of our lives; where we let the baggage we are carrying keep us from picking up what God has prepared for us. Like a child in a toy store, our hands get so full that we cannot pick up on more thing. We need to learn to be like that child who may have his hands full, but then he sees the best thing of all and drops all that he has in order to pick up that best thing! Jesus is the best thing!

God assured me that everything I need to succeed is prepared and ready to be accessed. It is not lost somewhere in the clutter of things. I do not need to go through old baggage looking for it, nor should allow that baggage to distract me. It is what God has prepared for today that is important. As long as I remain confident of that, I can anxiously anticipate the days, weeks, months, and years ahead with Him.

We will all do well not to let our clutter and baggage, keep us from what God has in store for us each and every day. It would be a shame for us to neglect what He has prepared and waiting to be accessed.
