SUCCESSFUL

When the Lord makes His people successful again... (Psalm 14:7b)

I picked this portion of Psalm 14 out of the middle of the verse, because I wanted to point out that it says when the Lord makes His people successful and not if the Lord makes His people successful. God’s promises are not in question; our trust is the pivot point.

As we celebrate mothers we have to say that that any woman who completes the process has achieved a success that is a miracle from start to finish. My bride is finishing up the 5th graduation celebration for our children and I am amazed at her endurance. Yet the thing that makes this the most successful is faith and trust in God. Without God there is no true success; only accomplishments.

The same is true for our daughter, child number five; without God she simply would graduate from High School, but with God she is a success. My opinion is that if God makes us successful that is true success, and all the glory belongs to him.

Lately, God has been leading me to scriptures with the number 4 in them and though I am not a number studier, I do recognize patterns! So I decided to go to the beginning and look in Genesis. It was on the fourth day that God made light to rule over the day and the night and separate light from darkness.

Therefore, each day is a new day and a new opportunity for success. After four years of High School my daughter graduates to a new life and new opportunity for success. God promises success those who trust Him.

Acts chapter 4 talks about the Apostles with great power making it known that Jesus was in fact raised from the dead. We now have the calling to walk in the power of God and reveal that He is still alive and doing all that He said He would do. The enemy has done his best to demean and make the Lord irrelevant, but it is a fool that says there is no God and we have a light to shine in the darkness. Isaiah 4 speaks of a day when people will run to those who know the Lord. Jeremiah 4 speaks of how the nations will be blessed when we declare His goodness the right way. Palm 4:6 says how many people say they wish they could enjoy the good life and express a desire to have some of those blessings. Well we have them, but the blessings are not the focus, it is the source of those blessings. Still, the Lord’s blessings are intended to bring attention to the Lord and draw people to Him.

So praise God for all success and expect Him to make you successful. Take a look and see all that the Lord has done and praise Him for it. The enemy does his best to get us to look at what we do not have rather than to count our blessings because he knows that people who count their blessings and give God glory for them, open the door to even greater blessings. Moms, God has given you great success. Praise Him. Graduates, God has given you great success. Praise Him! Everyone who knows the Lord; God has destined you to win and have great success. Praise and thank Him for His light that shines in the darkness and blesses you beyond measure.
