TELL! TELL! TELL!

We will not hide them from their children, telling to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.(Psalm 78:4 NKJ)

I am sorry to say, that I never knew much about the great things God has done when I was growing up. I went to Sunday school, and I remember the Bible stories, and I guess I believed there was a God. At least I did not believe there was no God. I do remember that sometime in the midst of my growing up there were people saying God was dead. I am not sure what I thought about that, or if I did. The fact was it did not change much in my life one way or the other! Why? Because at that point I did not see Him as a living and active part of my life. I had no personal proof that He was or that He was not.

I grew up with wonderful parents, who were good moral people who did their best to teach me right from wrong, but God was not a big part of our daily lives…at least not as far as I could tell. Consequently I guess I thought that God was okay if someone thought they needed Him and even okay for me when ever I thought I needed someone to call on. At the time I never knew if He really answered anyone or not. Well, by the grace of God I now have things to tell, tell, tell!!

So what am I going to tell? I will certainly tell the stories of the Bible, and when I do, I will be sure to say God has not changed, so we can still expect Him to do all of that and more. I am also going to tell what He has done for me personally. I will tell how he has healed me, delivered me, provided for me and for my family. I will tell how He is always ready to answer when we call and to help us with everything. I will tell that we can not do anything without Him.

I will also tell how He fills us with the Holy Spirit, and how His power has moved in our midst. Now, I can even tell how He has sprinkled people with gold dust, and how he gave a person in our church a gold crown on a tooth. I have no doubt that in the future I can tell of even more new things. I will praise the Lord and tell of the reports from all around the world where God is doing new things and I will encourage all who will believe it to expect God to do great, wonderful, and new things in their lives as well.

As I have the opportunity to tell all these things, I will not forget the most important thing. I will explain that all these things are just to cause us to love, trust, and depend upon our Lord more and more each day. God is simply doing what any father should want to do for His children. We can not worship gold, or anything else the Lord does or provides. They will all pass away, but He will go on forever. He will always provide and protect and do all those things that only He can do. He is the One we love and worship. And He is real and personal and waiting for us to come to Him. With this in mind, we should be in great anticipation what each new day with the Lord holds for us.
