TELL THEM
But Jesus said, "No, go home to your friends, and tell them what wonderful things the Lord has done for you and how merciful He has been."(Mark 5:19 NLT)
I often marvel at all the wonderful things the Lord has done for me. I especially am excited when I think of the mercy and protection He extended to me long before I ever considered a relationship with Him. Truly, when we are forgiven much it causes us to love much. When I take the time to consider all of that, it causes me to wonder how I could possibly think or act the way I do at times.
We are so privileged to have such a loving and generous God. How sad it is that the whole world does not yet know Him. One day the whole world will know Him. He loves everyone so much that He will shake things until everyone can see that it must be Him. Until then, He has chosen to put the message in the hands of people.
I just heard a woman share how faith comes as people hear what God is doing and see the great miracles that He wants to perform wherever he can find faith in people to pray for them.
In this passage of scripture, we read about Jesus delivering the demon-possessed man. That man wanted to go along with Jesus and travel with Him, but instead Jesus sent him to the people in his own area and told him to tell them about the wonderful things the Lord did for him.
Remember the story of the woman at the well and how she went and told everyone about Jesus and many of them believed. Then they came and saw Jesus for themselves and believed even more.
This is the effect that your sincere testimony of how wonderful God is and of the wonderful things He does in your life will affect those around you. They will begin to believe from what you tell them and this will cause them to seek for themselves and a life transformation will take place.
It is so important that we never lose sight of all that God has done in our lives. We must not let the enemy blind us to all that God has given us by holding up signs showing the little that we do not have. One man said that this was what the devil did to Eve in the garden. God gave them everything, but the devil convinced her to look at the one thing they could not have.
God has given us so much and yet we have not even begun to experience all He has planned for us. And it is not just for us, but also for who so ever will believe and obey His word. It is so important that we go and tell of our wonderful Lord.
