THANKFULNESS

Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God and keep the vows you made to the Most High. (Ps. 50:14)

In all I do, I want to honor you! We sing a chorus declaring to God that we want to honor Him. Verse 23 of this same Psalm tell us that giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honors God. He goes on to say, “If you keep my path, I will reveal to you the salvation of God.”

Now is the time. Make up your mind. Give your life to the Lord. In the beginning of my life with the Lord, I sang this song to God. I believe He gave the words to me to sing back to Him. He set the stage for life with Him. He gave me the opportunity to stop attending church with no commitment and give Him my life.

It was not a call to preach it was a call to reach. It was a call to come near and know Him. It was a call to know what it was to be forever grateful for His love. No matter what came next, that had to come first. All I knew was that He was the source of whatever had taken place in my life.

I am not certain that I realized the thankful part as much as I knew there was more and I wanted more. It did not take long to see that I had a great deal to be thankful for. It was also easy to see that I had a lot of empty promises that I had made to Him in times of trouble. I needed rescuing and He wanted me to give Him glory!

We give God glory when we honor His word by following His word. It is not our choice to decide what is acceptable to Him, He has told us what is acceptable. In case you have not noticed, Christians who follow the bible are not popular in a lot of circles. We must be willing to compromise and leave things out if we want to be accepted by society. Mostly just do not say anything.

I want to be acceptable to God so I must say something. We need to decide to stand, or before long we may be forced to hide. I never would have thought that Christians in America would be jailed for praying on the streets and interfering with activities of the devil. How crazy is that?

Habakkuk 2:14 says that the earth is filled with an awareness of the Glory of the Lord. I believe that is true, and it is why the devil is so worried. If every who is called by Jesus’ name stands for His name, the glory will destroy the works of the enemy. It is powerful when we give Him thanks for all He does for us. Every day, all day long, we have reason to give Him glory.

Put praise into the atmosphere. Be bold and strong, the Lord is with you. Stand for what is right. Speak the truth in love. This is what attracts the goodness of God. Tell people that your relationship with God is the most important part of your life. Check your heart. Check your relationship. Check your desires. Fix what needs to be fixed and thank God for His salvation. As David prayed, “Restore to me the joy of Your salvation;” I pray you have Joy and Thankfulness!
