This most certainly is one of those times when Jesus must be lifted up. Truly He is worthy to be glorified all the time, but we are in an age where it is time for Him to be lifted up so that people can see that He alone is the answer to all the sickness in this world.

When Jesus spoke these words, He was speaking of the time when He would die and be raised from the dead in order to make a way for us to be restored to fellowship with God. He made the way for us to have life and to walk in the light. He made the way for us to know the only truth that could make us free. Oh how we need this now.

As we draw close to the celebration of His birth, we cannot help but notice that the world is spinning and about to make everyone sick. Oh but there is hope. There is a way. Jesus is the way. Recently we discussed spiritual viruses. We are currently suffering from an epidemic of truthlessness. People cannot see the truth because they have been blinded by lies. We have become so concerned about offending anyone that we are about to be suffocated by darkness.

Think about this. People stood in lines for hours so that they could feel safe in the headlights of the H1N1 scare; well some did that is. Others stood in line to warn people not to get the shot. So maybe it works and maybe it doesn’t. Maybe the whole scare is real and maybe it is not. All of the water is murky right now. There is craziness with the healthcare fiasco, the economy, wars, and rumors of wars. Fear is a fad!

I had what I believe was a vision the other night. At first I rebuked it because it was so hideous. When that did not work I decided I should pay attention. I will not go into the graphics of it, but it was a mass of immorality, perversions, and corruption, mixed with terrorism and deadly religions. All of these scenes just kept spinning faster and faster and I could sense sickening effects. I began to cry out asking God what can we do, but the answer came before I could say it. “Lift up Jesus!” Makes sense; He is the cure all.

I know it is hard at times accepting that it is that simple, but He is the only answer! The truth is that it is the hardest, simple thing for people to accept or do. Remember, even some Christians have advanced degrees in making exceptions to the idea that we can simply trust Jesus for everything. If that is the case, how are we going to convince a world spinning out of control that Jesus is the answer? Remember when Israel was plagued and Moses held up the serpent on the stick? All they had to do was look at that snake and they would live. What we have to do is trust Jesus and lift Him up. God is ready to prove that it is just that simple. Do we believe that He is the cure all? There is not doubt about it. This is the truth. Believe it and pass it on!
