THE KING OF THE KINGDOM

"To what shall we liken the Kingdom of God?" (Mark 4:30 NKJ)

We cannot over emphasize the importance of the King in the exploration of the Kingdom of God. If we lose sight of the King, we will lose it all. In order to fully experience and recognize the kingdom then, it stands to reason that we must experience the King. The more we know the King the more we will recognize Him and the more of the kingdom benefits we will enjoy.

As I considered this, I took note that Jesus was always bringing people back to His Father. He pointed out things like, “only the Father is good;” and “The Father and I are one.” Then as Jesus went about, the Kingdom of God would manifest and bring glory to God. If the people’s focus was on the manifestation rather than on God, there was less of the Kingdom of God manifested. Little belief leads to little of the Kingdom. Greater belief leads to more of the Kingdom. This is why we cannot be reminded to much just how important it is to keep our eyes on the King of the Kingdom.

As long as we have our relationship with the King it does not matter what else we do not have, because we know that He cannot fail. Money can fail. Fame can fail. Friends can fail. The earth can disappear. But God cannot fail!

Scripture says that the Kingdom of God is like a seed. When we first begin to understand it, it is not very large, but if we will plant it we will see it grow up without really knowing how. However, no seed will grow when it is left in the package. The Kingdom of God will not grow if it is just left in a book on the shelf or in the background of our lives.

When we use to garden, we often ordered our seeds from a company that guaranteed them. If they did not grow, they would send more with no questions asked. They did expect you to open the package and plant them according to the directions. If you continued to have problems they would question as to whether or not you had done what they asked and in some cases whether or not you lived in the right climate for what you were trying to grow. The bottom line was that they were sure their seeds would grow when they were properly planted.

Often times people question the Word of God without ever bothering to plant it; they decide it does not work because they do not see the benefit for themselves or anyone else. This should not be the case if we will get the Word out. I don’t mean by telling people, I mean by showing people. Get the Word of God out and working for you.

We need to get our focus on the King then put the word to work for the Glory of God. This is what Jesus did and that is why it worked for Jesus and it is the way He expected it work for us. If we keep our eyes on the King, He will draw other eyes in the same direction.
