I hope so. We really want to believe God. Most of the time we do, but sometimes it is just hard. We really cannot be sure all the time. Maybe God has other plans. We will just leave it to God. Do any of these statements sound familiar? We could probably all fill many pages with things we have ourselves said or thought or heard others say, but we need to get over all that and move on. As Jesus told the disciples and we discussed last time, “Let’s go!”

Paul told the people in 1 Thessalonians 1:5 that they brought the message in power and the sure knowledge that it was true. He was committed to the truth of the message. Because they were committed to the fact that it works, it worked.

God’s Word works in those who believe it works. We have all wondered at times why it just seems to work better for some folks than others. It would seem from what the Word has to say about itself, it is dependent on the commitment of the one who believes.

We really do not like to look at it from this perspective, but if we do not, we will never get over our doubts or our excuses. “Is it really me Lord? If it is, show me what I need to change. I know it must be me because you are always right.”

We need to come to the place that we simply will not believe that any part of what God says is not the way He says it is. We need to quit questioning God and question ourselves instead! That is, if we want the message to work.

If we are satisfied to just survive on hit and miss faith, we might be ok, but why would we want to settle for less than all that God desires for us. We not only rob ourselves and others, but we also rob God of the pleasure of proving that every word is true.

What if we just committed ourselves to God being true and everything else is a lie if it goes against His word? What if we just went about doing the Father’s business, like it was His business? What if we carried the message like it was true and then watched the Lord perform as we cheered His wonder working power.

In the midst of a recent trip, I was riding the God Wing and Vikki was in the car. At a certain point I had my hand in the air praising God and looking into the sky. When we stopped, Vikki asked if I saw those dear while I had my hand in the air! It seems that while I was praising, deer that were headed to the road to cross changed their minds and headed back the other way. Needless to say I was praising God again for angels protecting me. We need to see God and give Him the glory in things great and small, realizing there is no small thing that God does! If we want to see it work, we need to work it!
