THE MOVE OF GOD
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations... (Matthew 28:19a NKJ)
Last night, I believe that God told me that the move of God is not in the church. The presence of God is in the church and the Spirit of God of course moves in the church, but the move of God, that so many talk about, is not in the church and really is not intended to be confined to any building. The move of God should be through the body of Christ increasing the body and advancing the Kingdom of God.
The real move of God should be everywhere we go. Jesus told the disciples and us to go and make disciples of all nations. The idea is not to get all the nations into a church. The actual move of God is intended to advance the Kingdom of God. The church is the place to get built up and prepared, but outside of the church is where the real action is to take place.
Think about it. How many people did Jesus heal in the temple? The man with the withered hand comes to my mind. How many did Jesus heal outside of the temple? Well, we really do not know the number; we just know that where there was faith, He healed them all. They came to Him for healing because they heard that he was moving in the power of God and that miracles happened everywhere He went.
How many people did Jesus feed in the temple? I don’t believe He fed one person in the temple, but He fed thousands on the hill side. He did His miracles out where they would advance the kingdom of God. The same is true of deliverance and raising the dead.
If the body of Christ does things the way that I believe God has in mind, the kingdom will outgrow all of the churches. Believers will have to gather in Stadiums for miracle reporting, but ideally as the Kingdom of God advances people everywhere will be involved in bringing glory to God where ever they are.
Miracles will be common place everywhere. Employers will not have people staying home sick from work. They will come together, get healed, and keep on producing. No one will want to miss all that is going on in the Kingdom of God.
Please understand, that I love gathering to worship God and I enjoy His presence so much, but more and more I am seeing that the Church is simply the practice field for what God wants spread everywhere. If we experience God’s presence in church but do not take that out to advance the Kingdom of God, we have failed to do what God wants us to do. But if we will take it outside, we will see greater things happen than we ever imagined and those outside will be influenced by the true move of God. So let’s get a move on!
