THE PLAN

And this is the secret plan: The Gentiles have an equal share with the Jews in all the riches inherited by God's children. Both groups have believed the Good News, and both are part of the blessings through Christ Jesus.(Ephesians 3:6 NLT)

From before the beginning, God had a plan. He planned to make a wonderful world full of wonderful things and then to make man in His own image. All the wonderful things in His creation were intended to bless His children. Yes, children. The plan was always that God would be Father to all these wonderful people created in His image.

Before the flood, it seemed that people could not or would not seek Him to find this out. Or when they were told, they did not grasp it. Consequently, man became so evil on his own that God told Noah to build an Ark and start things over. Have you ever considered how this must have hurt God to have to do such a thing to His own creation.

Even after the flood, very few would grasp the idea that God wanted to be their Father. Even though He told them in clear words that could not be misunderstood, they still would not receive all He offered. Finally, He sent His own Son. He showed us what it was like to be His child. How He would work through and for His children. He even gave His Son up to death on the cross to show us that there was no price to great to pay for His children. He then received His Son up into glory. In this He revealed that the more we die to our selves, the more of His glory we dwell in. The idea is that it be done on earth just as it is in heaven. Truly, God wants to be glorified by His glory revealed in His children.

And now we have this statement from Paul revealing God’s secret plan. Even though God made no secret of it, it seemed to escape the understanding of people. Even when the Jews were being so blessed of God, it seemed that they did not comprehend that this was what God wanted for them at all times.

If a person reads the Bible and sees how God blessed Israel, they have to wonder why Israel would not want to stay in that blessing all the time. Well, Paul tells us that we have the same opportunity right now. So why won’t we stay under the glory spout? Why do we rebel and refuse to accept what God offers.

Paul said that he was a prisoner for telling this truth. Some people prefer to think that this is what God wants for everyone. That they be prisoners, shipwrecked, beaten and etc. But Paul said that they should be encouraged by this truth. He wanted them to have their share. Of course he was beaten and jailed. Any time you share truth that does not please those above or around you, you get beaten and jailed. Pastors are thrown out of denominations for walking into truth that is not considered acceptable. People are welcomed to leave for believing the living word and walking in a place with God that others do not understand.

Not everyone embraced the plan that Paul was sharing. Not everyone embraced Christ then nor does everyone embrace Him now. But we certainly should! Isn’t it time we entered into the fullness of God’s plan, and let the glory of God be revealed in our lives and through our lives? There are some things God has been trying to do for you. Some things He has been trying to tell you. Walk in them!
