THE PRESENTATION
"You are my son, the one I love. I am very pleased with you." (Luke 3:22 ERV)
Even though not everyone believed it, this was a great introduction that God gave to His son. It was the perfect presentation. God placed in my heart the importance of the way He is presented and represented.
In reality, God presented Himself when He introduced Jesus. He no longer wanted to be viewed as scary voice on a mountain that could not be touched, but rather as a savior who came to take away the sins of the world.
For this reason Jesus came as the exact representative of God and we would have to agree that He represented Him well. This is how God wants us to present and represent Him.
If we present any other God than that the one that Jesus presented, we are wrong. He is the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ. He anointed Jesus to tell the good news to the poor, to tell prisoners they are free, and to deliver sight to the blind. He came to free those who had been treated badly and to announce it was time for the Lord to show His kindness. Jesus in turn anointed us to do the same thing through the power of the Holy Spirit.
So we were not anointed to advance a particular church or any particular person other than Jesus the Son of God. We are to present Him and represent Him.
So how do we present Him? He is neither a harsh judge, nor is he soft on sin. In Christ He has judged us righteous and empowered us to be like Jesus. We don’t have to sin and we should not choose to sin. Nor should we spend time rationalizing what is sin and what is not.
People can justify sin all they want, but only God has the final say. Why would we want to walk close to the line. When we choose to that, we are not representing Him the way we know we should.
How we represent Him, actually is our presentation of Him. Before we were ever saved, we were with some friends wearing born again buttons, but we were doing not so born again things together. When I questioned them about continuing to do what they were doing, they told me they did not need to quit doing anything all they had to do was go forward in the church. I knew that could not be right. I think they had missed the message and in so doing were misrepresenting the message and the messenger altogether.
So don’t lose sight of what you have been called to do and be. Remember, the more you press in, the more you can take out. The more you know Him, the greater your presentation, because He grows greater and greater in your understanding. This releases more and more to you and in turn, with more, you represent more of Him. Oh it is a wonderful circle. Don’t miss one little bit of the Kingdom of God.
